Soundproofing Services NYC

The right fix for every noise.

Hush provides soundproofing services for New York City homes and businesses, most of them in Manhattan co-ops, condos, townhouses and offices. Every project starts the same way: with the noise you hear and the path it takes into your space. Voices through a wall, footsteps from upstairs and hum from a mechanical room each travel differently, so each one needs a different fix. Find your problem below, or book a consultation and we will diagnose it on site.

Find the right soundproofing service for the noise you hear

Voices, TV or music through a shared wall

Walls

This is airborne noise. We build a decoupled wall on your side with isolation clips, mineral wool and damped double drywall, then seal the edges and outlets where sound leaks through.

Typical cost: $12,000 to $25,000 per room

Ceilings

Footsteps travel through the building’s structure, so foam and ceiling tiles will not stop them. We hang a new, isolated ceiling below the existing one so the vibration has nowhere to go.

Typical cost: $18,000 to $36,000 per room

Floors

Acoustic underlayment or a floated subfloor under your new finish floor, specified to the IIC rating your co-op or condo board asks for.

Hallway noise around the front door

Doors and windows

Most door noise comes through the gaps. A perimeter seal and an automatic door bottom close them. STC-rated doors and window inserts go further where seals are not enough.

Door seal package: $1,440 per door installed

Door and window soundproofing
Hum, rumble or vibration from building equipment

Mechanical noise control

HVAC units, elevators, boilers and pumps send low-frequency noise and vibration through the structure. We find where it enters and treat it at the source and along the path, not just on your side of the wall.

Echo, or a room where speech is hard to follow

Acoustic panels

Echo is a reflection problem, not a volume problem. NRC-rated felt, fabric and wood slat panels, baffles and bass traps, placed where the reflections actually happen.

Offices and commercial spaces

Conference rooms, executive offices, open-plan floors, restaurants and retail: isolation, echo control and sound masking, scheduled around your business hours.

Acoustic testing and reports

An acoustical consultant measures the noise, traces the source and documents STC and IIC results for boards, leases and disputes, before anything is built.

Soundproofing services by home and building type

How our soundproofing services work

  1. Consultation. We visit, listen and measure where it helps, to find the path the noise actually takes. What the consultation covers
  2. Design. We specify the assembly for that path, with the STC or IIC target and the paperwork your building asks for.
  3. Build. Our own crew installs it, so the work is built the way it was designed.
  4. Finish. Seams sealed, surfaces finished, and the room handed back ready to use.

What soundproofing costs

Price follows performance: a door seal and an isolated ceiling solve different problems at very different price points. Our soundproofing cost guide has real Hush project ranges and explains what moves the number up or down.
