The seal kit we install
Every install uses the Hush door perimeter seal kit. It closes the gaps that let hallway voices and everyday noise get around an otherwise solid door. Adjustable seals at the head and both jambs work with an automatic door bottom, so the opening is sealed all the way around when the door closes.
- Perimeter seal. Aluminum housings with neoprene gaskets, adjusted to press evenly against the top and both sides of the door.
- Automatic door bottom. Drops as the door closes and lifts as it opens, set to meet the floor without dragging.
- Finishes. Silver (standard), brown or gold. Installation hardware included.
Fire rated. Reference test results: pass for fire (UL 10B, NFPA 252, ASTM E152), positive pressure (UL 10C) and air leakage (UL 1784).
How booking works
- Answer a few quick questions about your door and your building.
- Upload photos of both sides of the door and tell us how many doors. Add your building’s sample COI if you have it.
- Pick an install date and pay online. We take it from there.
Building approval and insurance
Most co-ops, condos and commercial buildings in New York City want to approve work on a door before it happens. Download our spec sheet and submit it to your building or managing agent. You can book before approval comes through; the form will ask you to confirm.
If your building has a sample certificate of insurance (COI), upload it when you book or email it to info@hush.info before install day. Your building management or managing agent can send it to you. We have all of the insurance requirements for any type of building in New York City. We’ve seen the toughest, strictest criteria from management, and we can work anywhere.

What if my door has a knob instead of a handle?
Call us before booking. We want to be sure we can install a door handle first.
What if my door is taller than 84″?
It’s $150 more per door. The form adds it when you tell us how many of your doors are taller than 84″.
What if my building hasn’t approved the work yet?
Download the spec sheet and submit it to your building or managing agent. You can wait for approval or book now; the form asks you to confirm if you book without it.
Do I need my building’s sample COI to book?
No, it’s optional. Buildings set their own insurance requirements, so if you have the sample, upload it or email it to info@hush.info and our certificate of insurance will match it before install day.
Is the door seal paintable?
Yes. Use a paint made for metal, or prime the seals with a metal primer first and then paint them to match your door or frame.
